Capable committees

One of the most important advocacy methods for the Chamber of Commerce is its committee work. The committees have about 150 active members from the member companies. The committees work together to tackle the challenges of economic life in the region and to bring attention to local areas for development.

Infra Committee

The Infra Committee was founded in 2009, and it handles matters related to infrastructure, such as regional planning and land use planning, transport connections as well as electrical networks and communications networks.

Competence Committee

The purpose of the Competence Committee is to secure the availability of skilled labor by strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and employment and economic life and by increasing the attractiveness of the area to both students and companies.

Trade, Tourism and Services Committee

Trade, Tourism and Services Committee (formerly known as the Services Committee) was founded in 2009 with the purpose of developing and strengthening the competitiveness and operating conditions of services, including tourism, trade and financial sector services.

Digital Committee

The Digital Committee was established in 2021. The priorities of the Digital Committee include bringing together local actors from ICT companies and other fields and increasing the use and understanding of digital technology in the area’s companies.

Industry Committee

The Industry Committee of the Kuopio Region Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1975. The Industry Committee monitors and develops the operating conditions of industries and the agriculture and forestry sector in the area.

Growth Committee

The Growth Committee was established in 2020 for companies that seek growth. The members of the committee represent various fields of economic life.

Election Committee

The Election Committee of the Kuopio Region Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1993. The Election Committee prepares propositions regarding the election of the Chamber of Commerce representatives.
